WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?

Dermapen® is a medical device that uses a fine needling technique to target skin tissue at different depths. The skin is revitalised with the shrinking of enlarged pores, reduction of wrinkles and improved skin tightness.Skin needling is also excellent for evening skin tone and improving the appearance of scarring, as it helps to break down fibrous tissue, and stimulate new collagen.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Dermapen® is powered by a small motor, which moves the needles in and out of the skin approximately 1000 times per second. This produces micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating the production of growth hormones, which leads to renewed healing and collagen stimulation in the skin. Dr Kersh further enhances treatment by applying a custom-made blend of Hyaluronic acid, vitamins and minerals topically to the skin, immediately following the needling. For a more intense treatment, Skinboosters and Mesoesthetic Peels® may also be combined.

IS IT SAFE?

Yes, however, treatment must be carried out by a medical professional.

IS IT PAINFUL?

The needling is uncomfortable, but tolerable. A topical anaesthetic can be used.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?

The skin will appear pink and may feel ‘fiery’ for the next day or two. However, a spell under the Dermalux® LED lights will help to spur the healing process, while a specially-formulated Hyaluronic Acid face mask further soothes the skin.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Skin looks immediately plump and glowing, with pores much reduced. However, best results will be seen in 3-4 weeks as the rejuvenating effects continue.
