Prof. Colm J. Bergin is a distinguished world renowned figure in infectious diseases, serving as a Consultant Physician in Infectious Diseases at St. James’s Hospital in Dublin and a Professor in Infectious Medicine at Trinity College Dublin. With an extensive career dedicated to advancing infectious disease research and treatment, Prof. Cpl J. Bergin’s expertise spans administrative, service development, clinical, educational, and research roles.
At St. James’s Hospital, Prof. Bergin leads initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes in infectious diseases. His innovative approaches to HIV, antimicrobial stewardship, and vaccine-preventable diseases promotes best practice and patient centred medicine at its best. . As an advocate for integrated healthcare, he has played a crucial role in shaping policies for patient care and has contributed significantly to Ireland’s national response to infectious diseases.
Prof. Colm J. Bergin’s research is world leader in infectious disease prevention and control. He continues to publish extensively on topics including HIV, hepatitis C, and the broader field of infectious diseases. Prof B leads an instrumental role in training and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals at Trinity College Dublin.
