WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?
Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a knife-free alternative to a traditional rhinoplasty or ‘nose job’. Performed correctly, it can correct concerns such as prominent bumps, drooping tips and flared nostrils with minimal trauma – while having a significant impact on your overall appearance and self-esteem.
HOW DOES NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY WORK?
Essentially, a non-surgical rhinoplasty involves injecting fillers into the nose, to improve its overall shape. Strategically-placed injections of Dermal filler are typically used to straighten bridges and smooth bumps. These are often combined with muscle-relaxing injections, such as Botulinum Toxin A (Botox®), to reduce flaring, enhance the shape and transform the framework of the face.
The procedure takes around 15-20 minutes (or slightly longer if numbing cream is applied) and it’s a safe and reliable option for those looking to perfect their profile or balance their facial features.
WHO IS IT FOR?
A non-surgical nose job can benefit patients who are unhappy with the natural shape of their nose. For example, it is commonly used to address a ‘hooked nose’ or to change the shape of the tip. The ideal candidate is someone looking to make subtle refinements – without the downtime or long-term commitment associated with surgical intervention.
It’s important to note, non-surgical rhinoplasty will not make the nose look smaller. The fillers actually add volume. Therefore, if you’re looking to reduce nose size, this isn’t the best option for you. It’s also not typically used to treat functional issues, such as problems with the sinuses.
IS IT SAFE?
Yes; non-surgical nose reshaping is knife-free and – as a result – it comes with a fraction of the risks (and side effects) associated with a traditional surgical ‘nose job’. But that doesn’t mean it’s completely risk-free. Treatment must always be carried out by a medical professional, such as 23MD.
IS IT PAINFUL?
It’s impossible to say how you, personally, will find the experience of non-surgical rhinoplasty. However, generally speaking, most people do not find the procedure painful or unpleasant.
There is a slight feeling of pressure as the Dermal filler is administered, while the Botulinum Toxin A (Botox®) feels like a series of sharp pinpricks – but topical numbing cream can be used to help reduce discomfort.
WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?
Downtime following non-surgical rhinoplasty is very minimal – particularly if compared to a surgical ‘nose job’. A feeling of tenderness can linger for a while. You may also experience slight swelling or bruising. But as long as you are careful, you should be able to resume your normal daily activities straight after the procedure.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
In most cases, the effects of a non-surgical nose job are immediate. These results are temporary, and will gradually fade over time – but they can typically be seen for up to two years or more.
HOW MUCH IS NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY?
The exact cost of non-surgical rhinoplasty will vary depending on how much filler is used. For example, a client wishing to redefine the tip of their nose is likely to require less filler than someone looking to straighten a bump – and as such, the cost of their treatment will differ slightly.
