If your goal is to achieve a perfectly toned butt, you may have heard of EmSculpt, the first non-invasive FDA-approved treatment for lifting and strengthening your glutes quickly and with no downtime. Unlike surgical Brazilian Butt Lift, EmSculpt focuses on your muscles instead of just fat, helping to build a stronger, firmer, more lifted butt over multiple sessions. But how does the treatment compare to surgical options, and what should you expect in terms of results?
What is EmSculpt, and how does it work?
EMSculpt harnesses electromagnetic technology called HIFEM (high-frequency electromagnetic field) to penetrate through the skin and target the gluteal muscle tissues, increasing muscle density and volume whilst triggering a rapid metabolic reaction that safely and effectively destroys fat cells. The process helps to lift, strengthen, and define your buttocks, enhancing its shape and curvature. Emsculpt can create about 16 per cent of muscle development on the treated area after just four treatments spaced two weeks apart.
Each treatment is the equivalent to 20,000 squats – and patients can generally expect to have four 30-minute sessions for optimum results (although this can vary depending on the person).
Is the treatment painful?
EmSculpt is entirely painless, and patients can expect to lie comfortably and even read a magazine during their treatment. The area may feel slightly sore following treatment, however, you will be able to continue with your usual daily activities as normal immediately afterwards.
Is EmSculpt a good option for me?
EmSculpt is an excellent body contouring procedure for those who are health-conscious and maintain a relatively good exercise regime but would like to further enhance the area and achieve some extra definition that your workout classes just aren’t able to deliver.
The treatment will shape, sculpt and firm your buttocks for a more curvaceous silhouette, minimise the appearance of banana roll fat, tighten and lift the butt cheeks and strengthen your glutes with zero downtime.
What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?
A Brazilian Butt Lift, on the other hand, is a surgical buttock augmentation procedure that helps patients achieve their desired shape by transferring fat to the buttocks to increase fullness and plumpness. A fat graft is performed under local anaesthetic using liposuction to transfer fat from areas like the hips, stomach, or thighs to the buttocks. These extracted fat stores are then purified and reinjected to your buttocks to maximise volume and fullness.
What is the downtime?
As with any surgical procedure, there are several side effects and risks involved, including scarring and potential infection. Your buttocks may be swollen for several weeks as you recover from surgery, and you won’t be able to sit down for two weeks.
How does EmSculpt compare to the Brazilian Butt Lift?
While both treatments have similar goals, they are quite different in many ways. As we know, the Brazilian Butt Lift is a surgical treatment that requires significant downtime and poses several risks and possible side effects. It has even been noted by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons to be one of the riskiest cosmetic procedures available.
EmSculpt, on the other hand, is a non-invasive and non-surgical procedure with no pain or downtime. It works on tightening and strengthening the muscles in the buttocks, unlike surgical Brazilian Butt Lift, which solely focuses on fat, and it has been proven to shape, sculpt and firm your buttocks in as little as just one treatment.
