WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?

Silhouette Soft® is a medical technology designed to define the jawline, tighten skin laxity and improve the contours of the face and neck. Originally developed in the USA, it is a non-surgical and minimally invasive treatment with an immediately regenerative effect – making your face look fresher, healthier and younger. It is the only cosmetic procedure currently available that offers both an immediate facelift and a progressive voluminous effect.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

With the ageing process, fat and tissue naturally start to drop, leading to drooping, folding and wrinkling of the skin. Silhouette Soft® helps to reverse the process by repositioning the fat and tissues, whilst simultaneously tightening the skin. The skin is first marked and disinfected before a numbing cream is applied. Two needles, to which a surgical suture or ‘thread’ are attached, are then inserted into the skin in opposite directions. Pulled gently, the sutures tighten, effectively lifting and remodelling the skin. The treatment is further enhanced thanks to the sutures, which are crafted from polylactic and glycolic acid (materials that are easily re-absorbed by the body, and which promote collagen production and long-term rejuvenation of the face and neck). The procedure takes approximately 45-60 minutes, dependent on the number of sutures needed.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Silhouette Soft® can prove an effective solution for those patients looking to improve facial contours, particularly around the lower- and mid-face. It can also help to raise the eyebrows and improve sagging in the neck.

IS IT SAFE?

Yes, however, Silhouette Soft® should only ever be administered by a specially trained physician, and necessitates a post-treatment consultation to monitor ongoing results.

IS IT PAINFUL?

Silhouette Soft is not painful; however, the sensation can be uncomfortable. The numbing cream helps to dull the sensation, and a bruised feeling may linger for the following days.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?

The procedure has little effect on your day-to-day life; though, bruising and swelling at the site of injection can occur. Any bruising and swelling tends to settle quickly and applying an ice pack immediately may help.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

A lifted appearance is immediate, and effects will continue for up to 18 months. For best results, Silhouette Soft can also be combined with other complementary treatments such as Dermal fillers or Botulinum A Toxin (Botox).
